Annual Shutting of the Gates Parade
Thu, 01/12/2022 - 2:12pmThis Saturday 3rd December will see the Apprentice Boys of Derry Assoication take to the streets of Londonderry in commemoration of the brave actions of the 13 Apprentice Boys who closed the gates of the City in defiance of King James II back in 1688.
Visiting brethren will marshall up at Waterside train station for an 11.30am start and parade to the Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall.
At 1.15pm the parade will make it's way from the Memorial Hall to St Column's Cathedral for a service.
After the Service the parade will leave the Cathedral, follow the parade route and make its way to Bishop Street for the burning of Lundy.

The Siege Museum (ground floor only) will be open from 9am until 1pm on the day.
